A little kindness

The incident that happened  a few days before urged me to share it with at least a few people. I am not a perfect person. I am irresponsible at times: But I have a little humanity which makes me to care for others. So here it goes -  It was about 1.30 pm and I was on the local bus on the way to college. It was a rainy day and everyone's face seemed to be dull as like the climate. There were separate seats for the people who need it - elderly persons, pregnant ladies, disabled persons. I believe that others must give up these seats to those who mostly need it. And I also hope everyone knows it because we can find posters about this in each and every bus.

But the thing which happened that day made me really sad. An old man who could barely see got into the bus. He carried a walking stick in one hand and a bag in another. The seats which is supposed for him to sit was fully filled with young ladies and school going kids. No one had a heart to leave their seat to this poor old man. Everyone was comfortably sitting and pretending to be unaware of him by listening to music or sleeping or playing in their iPhone. I had no courage to ask them to leave their seat to this old man. He couldn't balance himself. He was totally wet and any person with a little kindness would definitely came forward to help him. I was ashamed of myself to be coward. But angrily before leaving the bus I complained to the bus captain about this and asked him to help the person. But I didn't know whether he helped him. With a painful heart I spent my whole day thinking about this.

This is not the only situation that is happening nowadays. This is just one example showing how this generation has turned itself into a worse one. The youngsters are very selfish and they don't have time to show a little kindness to those who need. In this above situation we cannot complain the kids who didn't help him because they learn from their parents. Parents are the one who is supposed to teach good qualities to their children. If a person couldn't show even a little kindness like this, I' m sure that they will regret some day since even their child will not show kindness to them.

I accept that this is a fast moving world and no one has got time to focus on these things. But at least we can try to change the world. I do not want everybody to be turned like St. Mother Theresa, but a very little kindness which is shown can bring a big difference. One must be an example to others, so that others will also be motivated. The high rolling people must think about the people who are starving for food. As per the statistics, it says that Every 5 seconds, starving kids of Africa dies. We cannot blame anyone for this, but if everyone tries to help and show a little kindness, its sure that we can change this.

Everyone has a heart but this technology based world has made them not think about humanity. Even animals show kindness then why can't human race. As it goes - Little drops of water make the mighty ocean it is sure that a little kindness can bring a big change.

A little kindness is needed !!!

I agree with your statement of selfishness. One question here, do you think only the adolescents are selfish??

You were not a coward! you were bold enough to ask the driver to help him. That is really commentable.

    Good Luck for your Blog..

  5. The only thing we can help this society, is by helping ourselves.

Undoubtedly, we may sad or having difficulties leaving all this behind us, however ask yourself. What can you do to them ?

This is inevitable. Not only Singapore. I ve been to Italy, France, German. Guess what I saw over these so called ADVANCE COUNTRY?

    I saw hatred, severe discrimination.

Lastly, i would like to quot a sentence that once a great Chinese said,
To rule the world, built your country,
to built your country, organize your family,
to organize your family, have self awareness and take good care of yourself.
